It all started in 2012 in a backyard tool shed, where Graham Sherman’s passion for technology and craftsmanship led to an obsession with brewing beer. Coming from a background in IT and military communications, he thrived on problem-solving and innovation. What began as a personal challenge soon became a mission to change Alberta’s brewing industry.

Graham quickly realized his dream was illegal due to outdated liquor laws that made it impossible for small brewers to operate. Instead of backing down, he fought to change the system. After a year of relentless lobbying, the laws were rewritten, opening the door for Alberta’s craft beer revolution.

From a humble tool shed to a 22,000-square-foot brewery, Tool Shed Brewing is built on grit, passion, and defiance of the status quo. Our beer isn’t just brewed—it’s engineered with precision and care, each can telling a story of resilience and innovation.
